The company completed delivery of PU pre-insulated steel pipe for the geothermal heating project in the southern new district of Seni, Nagqu, Tibet. The site lies at roughly 4,500 m above sea level and is heated from a geothermal source.
On the plateau the daily temperature swing is wide and UV exposure strong, so insulation and jacket must handle low temperature and intense sunlight together. Insulation thickness was set against the plateau heat-loss target, the jacket is HDPE, and pipe ends are sealed against water.
Joint closures and insulation make-up kits were shipped with the pipe so the line could be built continuously and stay insulated with no thermal bridge.
