Steel-jacket composite insulation for steam and high-temperature hot water up to 350 °C.
Where the medium is steam or high-temperature hot water, ordinary PU insulation has reached its limit. The steel-jacket steam insulated pipe uses a steel outer casing instead of HDPE: the casing carries the earth and traffic loads, accommodates thermal expansion through sliding supports, and keeps the insulation dry.
The insulation build-up is chosen from the design temperature. A typical arrangement is a high-temperature layer of microporous calcium silicate against the carrier pipe, a glass wool or composite layer outside it, and a controlled air gap — each layer working at a temperature it can tolerate.
Thermal movement is the engineering point most often missed. The carrier pipe expands when it heats up; if it is rigidly connected to the jacket, either the insulation is crushed or the weld is overstressed. We fit sliding supports and internal guides so the pipe can move while the assembly stays intact.
The outer jacket can be left bare with anti-corrosion paint or supplied with a full 3PE coating for wet ground, river crossings and aggressive soil. Give us temperature, pressure, laying profile and soil data and we will return a complete build-up proposal.

Every pipe passes through the same controlled route, with inspection points at each stage.
Shot-blasting, then anti-corrosion paint or high-temperature coating applied.
Supports are welded to the carrier pipe at calculated spacing.
Microporous calcium silicate shells are banded around the pipe.
Glass wool felt wrapped, then aluminium foil moisture barrier.
Carrier assembly is inserted into the steel jacket and centred.
Jacket coated with 3PE or paint, then end sealing and inspection.
Double-sided submerged arc spiral welded pipe for water, structure and piling.
FBE / 2FBE / 3PE / TPEP systems for buried gas, water and sewage lines.
Direct-buried polyurethane pre-insulated pipe for district heating networks.
Plastic-coated pipes for water supply, fire fighting, mining and cable protection.
